This collection will go down in horology as the first mechanical wristwatch to feature an automatically changing date display, a feature we can’t imagine the watch industry without today. The trailblazing watch was released in 1945 and incorporated Rolex’s innovative waterproof Oyster case and self-winding Perpetual movement. The result was an absolutely iconic luxury watch still incredibly sought-after today. Ref. 16233 is a modern two-tone edition featuring a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the celebrated caliber 3135 Perpetual movement, and a 36mm case.
