Because of its impressive production run, it is relatively easy to find a reference 5500 in excellent condition on the secondary market, including the example you see here. For that reason, and its versatile stainless steel finish, ref. 5500 tends to be one of the most attractive entry-level Rolex watches. This example circa 1981 is a handsome vintage model decorated with older-style indices and hands, Tritium luminescent material, a smooth bezel, and the famous three-link Oyster bracelet.
